Terms and Conditions of Use governing the Fulbright Web

Terms and Conditions of Acceptable Use 

The Institute of International Education on behalf of the United States Department of State, Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs and with the cooperation of IIE, the Council for International Exchange of Scholars maintains the Fulbright Web for your personal use to encourage communication and the sharing of ideas and information among members of the Fulbright community. Your access to and use of the services provided through the Site is also subject to the following terms and conditions of acceptable use Terms and Conditions and all applicable laws. By registering with the Site, you accept, without limitation or qualification, the following Terms and Conditions of Acceptable Use. Any individual who has been the recipient of a Fulbright grant is eligible to register with this Site. By registering with this Site, you represent and warrant that you are an eligible user.

Prohibited Uses 

The Services are being provided for the benefit of the worldwide Fulbright community to encourage communication and the sharing of ideas and information among members of the Fulbright community. The use of any of the Services to engage in activities inconsistent with these purposes is strictly prohibited. Prohibited activities include, without limitation, using the Services for (a) advertising or any other form of commercial exploitation; (b) organized partisan political activities; (c) illegal activities, including, without limitation, activities involving posting or transmitting any unlawful, threatening, libelous, defamatory, obscene, scandalous, inflammatory, pornographic, or profane material or any material that could constitute or encourage conduct that would be considered a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability, or otherwise violate any law. This prohibition extends to use of information that may be available through any of the Services. 

Copyright

Certain areas of this Site may contain copyrighted material. Unauthorized copying or publication of any protected material available on this Site is expressly prohibited, except for the purposes of fair use as defined in the copyright laws of the United States. Be aware that as the Fulbright community is comprised of individuals from all over the world, to the extent content is provided by individuals outside of the United States, intellectual property laws of other countries may also apply. By downloading, printing or otherwise using content from this Site you agree to limit your use of such content to fair use and not to violate the proprietary rights of IIE or other parties. The burden of determining that any content available at the Site is not protected by copyright rests with you. IIE's Rights and Remedies

IIE reserves the right to remove content that violates these Terms and Conditions, of which it becomes aware, but is under no obligation to do so. IIE further reserves the right to deny access to the Fulbright Web to any individual at any time.

All Services currently available through the Site are freely accessible through the Internet, without charge. IIE reserves the right to discontinue any or all of the Services at any time or with reasonable notice to you, to charge fees for services that may be provided in the future.
